United Methodist Women will be commemorating the Call to Prayer and Self-Denial for 2016. This year, the Call to Prayer program was designed by Darlene DiDomineck, a deaconess and former SPSA and United Methodist Women’s member. Darlene worked for a time with Memorial UMC in White Plains with the New York Annual Conference. She has since moved to Philadelphia to work with a brand new ministry called Grace Café, an outreach of Arch Street United Methodist Church, a reconciling congregation.
Sharing meals is essential to the formation of Christian Community. This year, over our meal, we will think
about women at work, Call to Prayer offerings for 2016 will go to support programs that empower women to gain the resources they need to earn a living wage for themselves and their families. Global projects that teach
women vocational training, job readiness, life skills, and advocacy around economic justice will benefit from the offering.
Please join us for the Call to Prayer and Self Denial, March 13 after the worship service in the parlor. Contact us with any questions.
