St. Paul & St. Andrew United Methodist Church and Carnegie Hall Citywide presents a free concert by Meghan Kasanders—hailed by Opera News as a “wonderfully promising, rich dramatic soprano”—and esteemed collaborative pianist Dror Baitel. The eclectic program includes Berg’s Sieben frühe Lieder (“Seven Early Songs”), composed while Berg was studying with Schoenberg; Rachmaninoff’s Six Songs, Op. 38 (the composer’s final set of songs for solo voice and piano); and Hair Emergency! by celebrated contemporary American composer Richard Pearson Thomas.
Lead support for Carnegie Hall Citywide is provided by the Howard Gilman Foundation and the Hearst Foundations.
No advance tickets or reservations required; seating is first come, first served. Doors on West End Avenue open at 6:30 p.m. (accessible entrance on W86th Street)
