We will gather at St. Paul and St. Andrew to celebrate the life of Rev. Floyd E. “Skip” George and honor his ministry.
Rev. Floyd served as pastor of SPSA from 1980 to 1985. His significant work included support for young adults and students, recruiting and empowering new leadership, the struggle against landmarking, and the encouragement of church feeding programs that developed into West Side Campaign Against Hunger and Meals on Wheels. In 1984, Skip hired K Karpen to serve as a seminary intern, based on a friendship the had developed at Camp Quinipet.
