What Does It Mean to Be Human?
July 16 | 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

What does it mean to be human? We are made to enjoy music, sunsets, all things beautiful…At our core is our desire to learn, our imagination, our ability to dream. How should we treat others? Who are the ‘others’? Who’s human? Who’s not? Who decides? At a moment when the world seems a bit too harsh, too riddled with despair, too filled with fear—we will spend an evening reconnecting with this very basic question: what does it mean to be human?
This evening of conversation and reflection will be facilitated by Charlene Floyd, professor of Political Science and the Academic Director of the Harlem Clemente Course in the Humanities.
