Holy Week & Easter

For our indoor services during Holy Week & Easter, those worshipping in person should wear a high quality mask (N95 or KN95). Masks will be available if you do not have one. Windows and doors will also remain open during the services for additional air circulation, so please dress warmly if it’s chilly!

PALM SUNDAY (April 10)

11:00am
Blessing of Palms & Donkey
Palm Sunday Service
In person (on West End Ave) and on YouTube

We’ll gather in the street at 11am, just like the crowds did way back when, welcoming Jesus into Jerusalem for that final time. We’ll sing and wave palms as we walk around the block, following our beloved donkey-friend.  Then we'll conclude our Palm Sunday service inside.  Afterwards, all are invited to mingle and make palm crosses in the sanctuary.

MAUNDY THURSDAY (April 14)

7:00pm
Maundy Thursday Service
In person (Sanctuary) and on YouTube

To commemorate the Last Supper, we’ll gather in the sanctuary for a time of meditation and communion, with time for silent reflection and prayer.

GOOD FRIDAY (April 15)

6:00pm
Crosswalk

Join Pastor K and other pilgrims, as they process through the streets of our city carrying the cross.  This reflective and embodied ritual is a modern-day interpretation of the stations of the cross.  The pilgrimage ends with participants carrying the cross into our sanctuary in the midst of our service.

Meet at 59th Street and Central Park South across from the Plaza Hotel (look for the group with the 11 ft. cross).

7:30pm
Good Friday Service
In person (Sanctuary) and on YouTube

Join us in-person or on the livestream for a powerful worship service on Good Friday.  Our focus turns, on this day, to the mystery and awe of the passion, as we follow Jesus on the journey to his death on the cross.  We will listen for God’s voice from Golgotha together, guided by reflection, reading, song, and prayer.

EASTER SUNDAY (April 17)

6:30am
Sunrise Service
In person (Central Park) and on Zoom
Meeting ID: 812 6512 0964 | Passcode: Easter

Join us at Belvedere Castle in Central Park to welcome the dawn on Easter morning. Please bring a poem, a thought, or a favorite hymn. You can also join by Zoom, sharing your sunrise with others who join from afar.

Meet at West 85th Street & Central Park West at 6:15am

11:00am
Celebration of the Resurrection
In person (Sanctuary) and on YouTube

We’ll join together for a Celebration of the Resurrection. The Metropolitan Horn Authority, SPSA Musicians, and Dr. Frank Glass will make sure to greet us all with a joyful noise!  And immediately after service, the kids can join Pastor Lea and Amanda in the Board Room, while Pastor Ekama and the youth help the Easter Bunny prepare for an egg hunt in the sanctuary.
