Advent & Christmas

December 22 update: In light of the rapidly rising Covid rates in the city, congregational participation for the 10:45pm Christmas Eve and the 11am services on Sunday, December 26 and January 2 will be from home only; no congregation will be present in the sanctuary at these services.

From our pastors, K and Lea:

Oh, friends, it is with sadness that we tell you that we will be gathering this Christmas Eve, but not in person.

During Advent, we have thought together about overcoming fear.  That always involves taking a risk.  Many are the risks each of us have to take just to navigate our lives. How aware we have become of that, over these past two years.

Indeed, we live in the light of the God who risked everything by sending a precious child to be with us, and to urge us to risk everything for love. We both believe in taking risks.

There is one thing, however, that we are just not willing to risk: the health & well-being, and perhaps the lives, of you, our beloved congregation.  As Covid cases keep rising, we know that gathering together in one place is no longer a safe option.

On Christmas Eve we will worship not virtually--our worship will be real!--but online.  We will worship God, as scripture says, in spirit and in truth.  And in the safety of our homes.

Wishing you a Christmas of unexpected blessings, even now!
