“When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed person, ‘My child, your sins are forgiven.’” – Mark 2:5
What is a ‘community of faith’? We toss that phase around, but do we think about what it means?
Mark’s Gospel tells the story of a small group of people who have a friend who suffers from paralysis. Hearing that Jesus is ‘at home’, they show up at the house, only to find it so crowded, they can’t get near the place.
What can they do? Well, they climb up on the roof of the house, with their friend. They cut a hole in the roof (!), and they lower their friend down in front of Jesus. And Jesus ‘sees their faith’. The amazing, radical faith of this community of friends.
You may not always feel like you have a ton of faith. But, working together, we have an amazing faith!
See you Sunday,
K
