On Ascension Day, the risen Christ takes off, leaving the Apostles to figure out what to do with the rest of their lives. It’s a time of transition for them, and a time to renew their spirits for the work ahead. And don’t we all need that?
This will be my last Sunday with you for some time. At the end of the week, I’ll begin a three-and-a-half-month renewal leave – a time of transition and renewal! The intention is to create some space for all of us to renew our souls and spirits, after some pretty challenging years. May this be a season for each of us personally, and for our beloved community of faith.
I look forward to worshipping with you on Sunday and celebrating afterwards, during our first courtyard cookout of the season!
