“The Lord God put the human in the garden of Eden to till it and keep it going.” – Genesis 2
The Book of Genesis describes the fun God has in creating a world: making trees that are ‘pleasant to look at and good for food’, creating a human being, working with that person to figure out names for the other creatures, and making the Garden of Eden for God’s new person to play in — ‘Eden’ in Hebrew means ‘delight’!
This Sunday we’ll gather for worship, not in Eden, but as close as we can come within a couple of blocks of the church. Meet us at 10am in Riverside Park, at the north side of the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument for a service of singing, prayer, and enjoying our connection to the natural world.
It will be ‘delight’-ful!
