Be Still

Eleventh Sunday after Pentecost
Today’s Reading: Mark 4:35-41

Peace, Be Still.
“The disciples woke Jesus up, saying, ‘Rabbi, don’t you care that we are perishing?'”
We find ourselves in the middle of a storm in a very small boat. Rather, in this swirl of multiple storms; storms of pandemic, economic uncertainty, racial injustice, political upheaval … you name it.
There have been times I’ve wondered whether God is somehow asleep.
And then I hear something like ‘Peace, be still,’ directed not only at the storms, but at my soul. -K
