The Impossible Commandment

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry…”  Matthew 6:24

I call it the impossible commandment: ‘Do not worry.’  Worrying is what we do!

The thrust of Jesus’ advice to us is this: trust God and live in the blessing of this moment.

The trouble with worry is that, while it’s good to think ahead and plan for the future, that planning can happen with a deep awareness of what God is doing in your life right now.

As Jesus tells us, today has plenty of trouble. No need to borrow any from the days to come.

So have an un-anxious day!
