Rev. K Karpen preaching

Then David said to Saul, “I cannot walk with this heavy armor, helmet and sword, for I am not used to them.” So David removed them, and stood there just as he was, in his own clothing.
– 1 Samuel 17:39

We are all vaguely familiar with the tale of David and Goliath, a story that has entered secular culture as a symbol of striving and thriving against overwhelming odds.

This Sunday we’ll look also at what the story teaches us about resisting other people’s (and our own!) expectations of who we are, and how we show up in the world.

I’m so thrilled to see you all IN PERSON, if you can make it. Remember, we’ll start at 10am, out on West End Avenue.

Be well,
K
