‘Jesus was praying in a certain place, and after he had finished, one of the disciples said to Jesus, “Lord, teach us to pray…”‘ Luke 11:1
We think that prayer is tricky. That there is some right way to do it, and probably, we’re doing it wrong.
The disciples thought the same thing. They watched Jesus praying, and they thought, There’s something going on we don’t quite know about.
So they ask for instructions, but what they get is some words. Jesus says, Use these. And he gives them the words we know as the Lord’s Prayer.
But what Jesus knows, and we’re learning, is that it’s not about the words. it’s about the intention behind the words.
See you Sunday for some intentional prayer!
