“Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, was led by the Spirit in the wilderness.” Luke 4:1
Friends, this Tuesday will mark the second anniversary of our last in-person worship service before the Covid-19 shutdown. This period of pandemic has been a long wandering in the wilderness for all of us.
During our wilderness time we fasted. Deprived of companionship, touch, physical connection. Often, we fed on fear. Still, there were amazing moments.
Luke tells us that Jesus spent 40 days in the wilderness. We’re at 730 days and counting. But, like Jesus, we are not alone. How true it is, that the Spirit has indeed been with us.
This Sunday we will gather, in person or online. Because we can! Thanks be to God.
