Clyne Ev’ry Mountain (presented by Camerata Notturna)

April 26 | 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

On Saturday, April 26, the Upper West Side is alive with the Sound of Music as Camerata Notturna bids “So Long, Farewell” to our 2024-2025 season! First up, we’ve followed every rainbow to bring you the NYC premiere of Anna Clyne’s “Color Field” (2020), an enthralling fantasy on Mark Rothko’s “Red, Orange, Yellow.”
Then we’ll bid you “auf Wiedersehn” as conductor Maury Cohn leads us up the Austrian summit of Gustav Mahler’s epic 4th Symphony — whose 1st movement alone runs 16-going-on-17 minutes, and whose childlike vision of heaven features the most beautiful and crowd-pleasing music Mahler ever penned. But here’s our favorite thing: internationally acclaimed soprano Chanáe Curtis takes the stage like a ray of golden sun, closing the symphony with the warm and lovely song of a child shepherd (though some scholars argue the protagonist was actually a lonely goatherd).
After all that, let loose and shout “weeeeeeeeee!” with us at Jake’s Dilemma @ 430 Amsterdam Ave where we’ll have a private space just for us and our friends. Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes drink free all night long!

NOTE: Online ticket sales will close at 9AM on the day of the concert.
