Hablemos Inglés (*y español)

We’re excited to launch Hablemos Inglés (*y español)—a new initiative at SPSA designed to build language skills and friendships through conversation!
We’re inviting native English speakers with basic to advanced Spanish skills to help our immigrant neighbors practice English. In return, volunteers will have the opportunity to practice Spanish if they wish.
These will be informal one-on-one or small-group conversations, switching between English and Spanish to support learning and cultural exchange in both directions.
Signups are now available on Lotsa, our volunteer platform.
If you’re not yet a member of Lotsa, please create an account. If the direct link doesn’t take you to the group, click “Join a Care Team” and search for “Love In Action” using the zip code 10024. Once you request to join, we’ll approve you and you’ll be able to view the calendar and sign up for sessions.
We understand that not everyone will be able to attend these particular dates or times. Please know this is a pilot program, and if it goes well, we hope to offer it again in the future—potentially with different scheduling options.
