Solidarity from the Borderlands: A View from the Ground

Join us for a presentation by Dr. Dorothee Benz about their recent trip to the US southern border.

Every year, hundreds of people die crossing the U.S.-Mexico boarder. Benz spent the months of January and part of June in the Sonoran Desert, providing humanitarian aid to crossing migrants with the group No More Deaths.

She brings a report on the real conditions on the ground, the life saving efforts of volunteers amidst overwhelming need, and the causes of the humanitarian crisis – all in perspective of the bipartisan agreement on border policy and the white Christian nationalist push for full-scale ethnic cleansing in the U.S.

About the presenter

Dorothee Benz, PhD, is a writer, organizer, and strategist who has spent decades on the frontlines of social justice struggles in the United States. Benz has won dozens of awards for their journalism, and is an incredible speaker, preacher, teacher, and facilitator.
