Wonder about the nonviolent tools of boycotting, divesting and sanctions? Join our friends from Park Slope UMC as they host M. Theresa Basile. Basile is the co-founder of United Methodists for Kairos Response (UMKR), serving currently as UMKR’s Education Co-Chair and Communications Director. She will be sharing how United Methodists have been engaging with these tools.
We’ll learn from a short video of Omar Bharghouti, one of the founders of the Boycott Divest Sanctions movement, and then Theresa will fill us in on the United Methodist connection to these efforts. There will be time for questions and an opportunity to consider personal and collective responses. Don’t miss this chance to learn more about our larger church and this movement for justice!
