“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” Matthew 5:4
Whenever we gather in worship, we join with other followers of Jesus we cannot see. Communion is always a ‘communion of saints’, past, present and future – a community beyond time and space.
On All Saints Sunday, we take some time to acknowledge that fact, and to enjoy the presence with us of those ‘saints’ – those dear to us who are no longer with us physically, but very present to each of us as we worship. So many wonderful ancestors worked, prayed, taught, and loved, to make us who we are!
This Sunday we will light candles to remember each of these saints. Please come ready to call out their names. If you join us remotely, either add their names in the chat (if you subscribe to our YouTube channel), or send me an email ahead of time, and we will be sure to include them as we light the candles.
May their memories be for a blessing,
K
