Towards Freedom

Sixth Sunday After Pentecost | July 4, 2021

Live Worship on Zoom at 10am

This Sunday, we’ll be live and on Zoom for worship!  We’ll come together from our homes or from wherever you have traveled to join our hearts and minds in real time, starting at 10am!  We’ll begin a month-long reflection on how we are moving “towards freedom” in faith and in our lives.  We’ll also observe holy communion, so have bread and juice on hand.

A recording will be available later this afternoon on our YouTube channel.

I am more aware this month, in light of national faith conversations and in considering our frame of freedom, how I count the welcome table among our Methodist tradition’s most important tenets.  God’s table is set with salvation and sustenance and it is for us all.  We are free to receive these gifts from our God of radical love and creative justice-in-the-making.  It will be especially sweet to share the sacrament live with you all on Sunday.

See you at 10am!

“Let us build a house where love is found
In water, wine, and wheat
A banquet hall on holy ground
Where peace and justice meet.
Here the love of God, through Jesus,
Is revealed in time and space,
As we share in Christ the feast that frees us.
All are welcome.
All are welcome.
All are welcome in this place.”

Love,
Pastor Lea
