Be Opened

Fourth Sunday After Pentecost | Bulletin

“The Syrophoenician woman answered Jesus, ‘Sir, even the dogs under the table get to eat the children’s crumbs.'”  Mark 7:28

Does Jesus really call this woman and her daughter dogs?  That hits kind of low on the ‘What Would Jesus Do’ meter, even though Jesus does it.

But the thing is, she teaches Jesus that he really does have some opening to do.  Fortunately, he’s Jesus, so rather than get defensive, like I would, he gets opened.  He gets opened.

As our church continues to reopen, it is very clear that each of us has places in ourselves that need to be opened.  Fortunately, we know a God who is in the opening business.

See you Sunday,
K
