“Simple Gifts of Community”

Trinity Sunday | Bulletin

“The community devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. Awe came upon everyone, because many wonders and signs were being done by the apostles. All who believed were together and had all things in common; they would sell their possessions and goods and distribute the proceeds to all, as people needed it. Day by day, as they spent much time together in the temple, they broke bread at home and ate their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having the goodwill of all the people. And day by day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved.” Acts 2:42-47

Still processing the death and resurrection of their friend and teacher, the early Jesus-followers are astonished when a visit from the Holy Spirit empowers every voice and tongue with prophetic fire. God calls them to turn the world around, but where should they start?! In Acts 2, an early church forms by starting small: eating together, sharing what they have, caring for one another. And in the wake of their unimaginable grief, their endless winter, something new and invincible emerges among and within them. Join us for this Youth Sunday worship service as we reflect on what community means for us, right here and right now, and how it pulls us through.
