They said, “People of Galilee, why do you stand looking up toward heaven?” Acts 1:11
A lot of the time we get stuck on worshiping Jesus instead of following him. Jesus never said, Worship me. What he says, over and over again, is this: Follow me. Follow me. Follow me. Follow me through the streets. Follow me to people nobody cares about. Follow me to places of power. Follow me to the cross, if need be.
Standing in the heights and staring at the clouds doesn’t make me a Christian. But doing the Gospel just might. On this Ascension Sunday, let’s follow the footsteps, and the footprints, of Jesus. See you Sunday.
